    • The Who
    • Quadrophenia is everything that Tommy wanted to be, a rock opera that told a story, but one where every song could still stand alone. It was also Pete Townshend's farewell tribute to the Mod

    • Jeff Wayne
    • With the new movie adaptation of H.G Wells' classic Sci Fi invasion tale, War of the Worlds, currently on theater screens everywhere, there's new interest in Jeff Wayne's rock opera version, and it is

    • U2's latest entry is a mostly underwhelming collection of songs that does very little to sound any different from its equally pedestrian predecessor, 2000's "All That You Can't Leave Behind." While

    • Goldfrapp
    • On their latest CD, Supernature, Goldfrapp has put together a successful mix of 1980-era New Romanticism, German cabaret, and T. Rex glam that leaves you riveted even through the album's lulls. It's a great amalgam that sounds current without sounding at all dated.

    • Massive Attack
    • "Black Milk" knocks me off my feet in this collection of moody and eclectic songs. Massive Attack uses samples and keyboards in a very unique way, but not all the songs pack the same punch.

iToner 1.0.6 Improves Support for iPhone 1.1.3

Ambrosia Software announced the immediate availability of iToner 1.0.6 on Thursday. The new version offers improved support for iPhone OS 1.1.3, adds new file formats and more.

Version 1.0.6 has these improvements:

  • Support for iPhone OS 1.1.3
  • Support for .mp3, .mp4, .wav, and .aif files
  • Intelligent audio processing for added ringtones
  • French, German, and Italian localizations
  • Various fixes and enhancements

"With iToner, simply drag and drop your favorite audio files onto the elegant and familiar interface, and click the Sync button. Your custom ringtones are instantly accessible from your iPhone! Even better, your ringtones will continue to work with future iPhone OS updates," Ambrosia said.

iToner 1.0.6 is a Universal Application, requires Mac OS X 10.4.10 or later and is priced at US$15.00.

Andrew Welch told iPO recently that iToner uses the same mechanism for moving files to the iPhone as Apple, and he doesn’t expect problems with future iPhone updates. However, if iToner ever stops working in the future due to Apple updates, customers will receive their money back.
